Lyke Giants are a band that have become very worthy of mention. They are an unearthed band from Tasmania that have been rising in popularity after the release of their debut EP last year. Their new track, 400 Days has received some air time on Triple J, probably largely due to it's greatness. It is a very mellow track that will probably see Lyke Giants rise to higher grounds this year, with a guitar riff that kind of feels like it goes around in circles, and then a nice explosion towards the end that I wasn't expecting. Although I don't think 400 Days quite matches the expectation i had after the sounds that the band created on one of their earlier songs The World Shakes, it's definitely one to add to your playlists. Also, something interesting, after listening to some of their songs earlier this year, the band sent me a message on last.fm thanking me. These guys are either really nice or great promoters.
